The Social Studies and Civic Educators Association of Nigeria (SOSCEAN) is the foremost professional association for Social Studies and Civic Education educators, researchers, students, and practitioners across Nigeria. Established to advance excellence in Social Studies and Civic Education, the Association is committed to promoting effective citizenship, national unity, peace, democratic values, and sustainable national development through quality education. Its guiding motto, "Effective Citizenship and Service," reflects its unwavering dedication to nurturing responsible, informed, and value-driven citizens.

SOSCEAN serves as a national platform for professional collaboration, research, policy advocacy, and capacity development.
